National Park Service – North Carolina Parks - The Wright Brothers National Memorial and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are just 2 of the many national park sites in North Carolina.
North Carolina Department of Commerce (Tourism Services) - This is the best site for those interested in learning how the state govern-ment is involved in tourism. It provides statistical information on tourism's economic impact and bene-fits, resources for those involved in the tourism industry, and websites promoting various tourism sectors in North Carolina.
North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources - This is the state umbrella agency for North Carolina arts and culture, history, libraries, and research. Places like the North Carolina Art Museum and Museum of History, the N.C. Symphony, and the State Library of N.C. are a part of this department.

North Carolina State Parks -North Carolina’s state parks are “Naturally Wonderful” and very diverse. With 34 state parks and 4 state recreation areas, the system stretches from the highest sand dune on the East Coast at Jockey’s Ridge to Mount Mitchell, the highest point in the eastern U.S. Between these points are mysterious bay lakes, wild swamps, rare sandhills, piedmont river systems and bold mountain streams. It also manages 19 state natural areas.
