Blue Ridge Entrepreneurial Council (BREC) - BREC is an organization for entrepreneurs in western North Carolina that focuses on education, networking and mentoring, communications and capital formation. It helps local businesses raise capital, brings private equity investors to western N.C. to evaluate businesses, hosts venture capital conferences, and recruits businesses with high-growth potential to the region. It is part of the Advantage-West Economic Development Group.
Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) - (RTP) CED is the oldest and largest entrepreneurial support organization in the nation with more than 5,500 active members. It provides know-how, networking, mentoring and capital formation resources to new and existing high-growth entrepreneurs through annual conferences, programs and web-based resources. It helps entrepreneurs, investors, service partners, researchers and public policy makers (from one-person start-ups to 1000-person businesses).

NC IDEA (Innovative Development for Economic Advancement) - NC IDEA assists technology-based entrepreneurial companies with seed and early stage funding through traditional venture capital, and pre-venture stage funding via their grants program. It also offer strong, strategic partnerships and alliances to assist entrepreneurs through research phases, business challenges and growth goals.
North Carolina REAL Enterprises (NC REAL) - NC REAL is a non-profit organization that helps bring entrepreneurship and small business crea-tion to the state. NC REAL stands for North Carolina Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning. Through their training programs and curriculum, they have helped thousands of people create new jobs in N.C. They work with adults and youth interested in entrepreneurship.
