Manufacturers and Chemical Industry Council of North Carolina (MCIC) - MCIC is a non-profit association representing the interests of North Carolina manufacturing industries.
North Carolina Bankers Association - Established in 1897, this trade group provides various services to its member financial institutions such as educational and training programs, media relations, insurance benefits programs, the Carolina Banker magazine, and regulatory and compliance assistance. It offers legislative liaison in the N.C. General Assembly and US Congress on behalf of its membership. It operates the Community Investment Corporation of the Carolinas, providing long-term, low-cost financing for low to moderate income multi-family developments in N.C.
North Carolina Business Committee for Education (NCBCE) - NCBCE is a nonprofit comprised of North Carolina’s leading corporations and businesses focused on the link between education and economic growth. Created in 1983 and located in the Office of the Governor, the Business Committee’s mission is to act as a catalyst for systemic change and continuous improvement in public education.
North Carolina Chamber - This site will take you to the statewide chamber of commerce site, and also link you to the local chambers.
N. C. Office of the Commissioner of Banks - This is a great resource for consumers and people involved in the banking industry. This office is responsible for chartering and regulation of North Carolina's state banks and trust companies, and registration/licensing of various financial institutions operating in the state including Check-Cashers, Consumer Finance companies, Mortgage Bankers and Mortgage Brokers, Money Transmitters and Refund Anticipation Lenders. North Carolina Department of Commerce - The N.C. Dept. of Commerce is the state's leading economic development agency. It is a must go to site. It works with local, regional, national and international companies. Its divisions include business, industry and workforce development; tourism, film and sports; community assistance; international trade; and marketing.
North Carolina Secretary of State - This is another must go to site for businesses, charitable organizations, citizens and other governmental agencies. It includes the securities division, trademark section, notary section, corporations division, and UCC records to name a few areas.
Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) - The SBTDC is part of the UNC system and the U.S. Small Business Administration. It provides knowledge, education and other supportive resources that enable existing small and mid-sized businesses, emerging entrepreneurs and local/state leaders to innovate and succeed. There are 17 university-affiliated offices.
Sustainable North Carolina - Sustainable North Carolina helps organizations turn the concept of sustainability into practical action through net-working, education, services and recognition. It has a network of professionals from businesses, nonprofits and government agencies.
U.S. Export Assistance Centers of North Carolina - This is part of the U.S. Dept. of Com-merce. The Assistance Centers help N.C. businesses excel in international export markets. There are 3 offices in N.C. - Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro.
Information Technologye-NC Authority - This is the state initiative to link all North Carolinians, especially those in rural areas, to the Internet. The purpose of the organi-zation is to use the Internet as a tool for helping people improve their quality of life. It is part of the N.C. Rural Economic Development Center.
MCNC - For over 25 years, MCNC (a nonprofit organization) has been committed to building partnerships among academic, research, government and business communities. These partnerships enable and advance education, innovation and economic development throughout N.C by delivering the world’s foremost I.T. services with the North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN).
North Carolina Board of Science and Technology (NCBST) - As a State-authorized advisory board under the N.C. Department of Com-merce, NCBST encourages, promotes, and supports scientific, engineering, & industrial research applica-tions in North Carolina. Created in 1963, the Board has been responsible for the creation of a number of internationally recognized initiatives.
North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) - NCTA supports and encourages the use of technology as a tool in education from preschool through lifelong learning. It helps address the technology needs of North Carolina's schools and better prepares students for the 21st century workforce. Membership consists of top-tier leaders among technology companies, professional service firms, community organizations, educational institutions and government agencies.
The North Carolina Technology Student Association (NCTSA) - NCTSA is the state-affiliate of the nonprofit national student organi-zation devoted to teaching technology education to young people. Its mission is to inspire student members to prepare for careers in a technology-driven economy and culture.
