North Carolina State Parks - There are 34 state parks and 4 state recreation areas in North Carolina. All state parks offer opportunities for hiking, picnicking and nature study. Most have campgrounds and many have modern visitor centers. More than 13 million people visit these parks each year.
North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) - NCWRC operates and maintains 205 public boating access areas and manages over 2 million acres of public and private N.C. lands for hunting, trapping and inland fishing. In addition, NCWRC operates 4 education centers with free admission and programs.
