CapitalSouth Partners - Headquartered in Charlotte, CapitalSouth Partners was founded in 1998 to provide private equity and mezzanine capital to lower middle-market companies located primarily in the South, but also throughout the U.S. It provides junior capital for growth financings, management buyouts, control/leveraged buyouts, acquisitions and recapitalizations.
Carousel Capital - Founded in 1996, Carousel Capital is a private investment firm that focuses on investing in companies located in the Southeastern U.S. The firm has an extensive track record of partnering with management teams to build leading companies with national and global presence within its three targeted growth sectors: business services, consumer products and services, and healthcare services. It is located in Charlotte.
Frontier Capital - Founded in 1999 and located in Charlotte, this is a private equity firm that provides capital and support to technology enabled business services companies. It invests in high growth companies with a proven solution in the marketplace that can benefit from capital to accelerate growth, fund acquisitions, or generate shareholder liquidity. It also provides assistance in areas such as strategic planning, sales and marketing, and financial reporting and controls.
Intersouth Partners - Founded in 1985, this is one of the most active and experienced venture funds in the Southeast, and is the largest venture capital fund in N.C. Based in Durham, it seeks a broad range of investment opportunities in the technology and life sciences sectors. It has experience with investing in fledgling companies, technology assessment and transfer, management team development, and corporate partnering.
Pappas Ventures - Founded in 1994, the soul focus of Pappas Ventures has been investing in the life sciences – biotechnology, specialty pharmaceu-ticals, drug delivery, medical devices and related ventures. Its scientific, medical and business professionals work closely with entrepreneurs to provide their companies with the financing, guidance and extensive network of relationships necessary to build successful enterprises.
Piedmont Angel Network (PAN) - Located in Greensboro, PAN is a member-managed angel venture investing capital fund designed to capitalize on the growth in entrepreneurial activity and early stage venture financing, primarily in the Piedmont area of N.C. and secondarily in other regions of N.C. Its emphasis is on high-growth life science and technology companies.
SJF Ventures - Since 1999, SJF has invested in the cleantech, premium consumer products, business services, and web services sectors.
